Cette série comprend des photographies qui documentent les principaux bâtiments associés à l’école de Wiikwemkoong, notamment l’église, la chapelle, le cimetière de la paroisse et les résidences des étudiants. Elles documentent, entre autres, l’intérieur et l’extérieur de l’église Holy Cross de Wiikwemkoong. Des images à la suite de l’incendie de 1911 font également partie de cette série. Elle contient également des images de l’atelier de menuiserie et de la cuisine de l’école. Cette série comprend des photographies d’étudiants autochtones de l’école ainsi que les professeurs et le personnel jésuites. Des portraits de groupes d’étudiants ainsi que de l’orchestre s’y trouvent. De plus, des photographies de cette série offrent des points de vue du territoire non cédé, notamment de la baie de Wiikwemkoong, du moulin et du quai.

Joseph Cadot, S.J. Collection

The collection contains records that attest to his religious life, including invitations and articles pertaining to his celebration of 60 years in the Society of Jesus, Province of Upper Canada newsletters, newspaper articles about his religious career, handwritten notes on the unveiling of a monument dedicated to him, and memorial cards.

Many of the records in the collection pertain to Father Cadot’s years in the Northern Missions, including a bound collection of hand-transcribed memoires recounting his experiences there compiled by Father Rolland. It also includes a scrapbook of photos of Father Cadot at Chippewa and Guelph in the 1930s, some featuring community members, and newspaper clippings. Some correspondence from the 1930s between Father Cadot and fellow Jesuits during his time at Chippewa Hill can also be found in the collection, as well as a typed account of his time at Cape Croker and Saugeen, written by him. It also includes postcards from Cape Croker.

The collection contains records relating to Father Asselin’s religious life, including certificates of baptism and confirmation, memorial cards, and a letter confirming his ordination (in Latin), as well as personal documents like passports, memos, and military certificates.

Many records in the collection testify to Father Asselin’s religious/academic involvement, including a copy of the Spiritual Exercises and his own research and publications on the Exercises, a booklet published by Father Asselin about spirituality, newspaper articles featuring his research, photographs from his lectures, scholastic certificates, and Loyola College mementos and brochures. Abundant correspondence from the 1950s to 1970s—mostly scholastic in nature and having to do with the Spiritual Exercises (which was his speciality), but extending to casual correspondence with friends, colleagues, and family—can also be found in the collection.

A number of photographs and negatives may be found in the collection which depict Father Asselin at a military camp and various religious ceremonies and conferences.
