              The collection includes biographical information written about Ernest Comte, S.J. in the 1920s, as well as his catalogue page and memorial cards. It also includes original copies of his own writings about his time at Killarney, many correspondences produced by him, an original sermon he authored, accounts of his missions, and transcribed excerpts from several additional letters he wrote. The collection also contains several photograph portraits of Father Comte as well as one negative.

              The fonds includes records pertaining to Brother Vandermoor’s religious life including transcribed prayers and prayer cards as well as a spiritual notebook. Receipts and correspondence, particularly with the residential school in Spanish, Ontario, as well as vehicle motor repair certifications and correspondence about the mechanics class Brother Vandermoor oversaw at Spanish are also included in the fonds.

              The fonds contains documents pertaining to his religious life including his baptism certificate, a Latin letter from Father Dufresne confirming his ordination, photocopies of mission dates and information, an Upper Canada Province newsletter featuring him, and prayer cards. Additionally, the fonds contains a number of photograph portraits of Father Howitt at various missions, many which feature Indigenous community members, and one negative. A number of correspondence can also be found in the fonds, most of which was produced from the 1920s to 1940s at Spanish, Ontario, as well as Cape Croker, Port Arthur, and Nipigon, and which reports on his mission work.

              The collection contains original correspondence written by Jean-François Chambon, S.J. in the 1890s, as well as an 1884 typed account of Father Chambon’s time at Garden River addressed to the Superior. The collection also includes lumber receipts and other lists of materials, as well as photocopies of biographical material pertaining to Father Chambon.

              The fonds contains records pertaining to the spiritual life of Daniel Hannin, S.J. As a lifelong advocate for adult education in Indigenous communities, Father Hannin’s fonds includes several bound essays and theses on the topic. It also includes correspondence between Father Hannin and religious and academic colleagues. Brochures and newsletters from the Anishinabe Spiritual Centre, Campion College, and other groups and institutions demonstrate Father Hannin’s involvement in both spiritual and educational life wherever he went. Finally, a number of photos depict Father Hannin over the course of his life, from earlier graduation portraits to celebrations with friends later in life.

              The collection documents the life and activities of Eugene Papineau, S.J. The collection reflects Father’s Papineau presence in Northern Ontario, particularly at Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island. The collection includes biographical information on Father Papineau, as well as correspondence written by and about him. It also contains photographs that testify to his activities in Northern Ontario, as well as portraits.

              The collection contains biographical records relating to John Joseph Barker, S.J. including his certificate of vows, as well as newspaper clippings pertaining to Father Barker and a transcription of a taped interview with him.

              John Raymond Oliver, S.J. Collection

              The collection contains records that attest to his religious life, including a Latin document confirming his ordination, photocopies of articles pertaining to his religious career, and memorial cards. A number of photographs can be found in the collection, many of which are portraits of Father Oliver or depict him on vacation with other Jesuits or at various missions, including Longlac, Ontario and at the Spanish, Ontario residential school. Additionally, a substantial amount of correspondence can be found in the collection, most of which was sent by Father Oliver from Spanish, Ontario in the 1930s through 1950s to colleagues and friends, as well as a batch of correspondence from the 1970s between Father Oliver and his family.
