Scope and content

The series testifies to the Jesuits’ involvement in the implementation and management of schools meant to educate Indigenous children. It mainly focuses on the Spanish Residential School.

The series is divided into two sub-series: Fort William and Lake Superior schools; and Residential Schools. It contains attendance reports, historical notes, correspondence and observations about school matters, lists of Ontario residential schools and students, communications written by the Spanish Reunion Committee, and a scrapbook. The series also contains photographs, mainly of students, staff, and buildings of the Spanish Residential School.
